59meteor, "E" model Fords were built at most of FoMoCo larger plants, but all suppercharged 57 Fords were built at Dearborn. From my research in the 1980s this is what I've found 1207 suppercharged Fords were built, but not all carried the "F' engine code 212 "F" code Thunderbirds were built, but 20 "D" code suppercharged t-bird invoices have been found (All built April 14/15, 1957 )  2 Rancheros, one was a "F" code other belived to be a "D" code both built April 15, 1957, the following are all "F" codes ,20 Retrackables, 1 station wagon,  50 Police cars for the Minneapolis police department (When the cars were sold the suppercharges were removed) , 6 possibly 7 convertibles 76B.

I am not sure why the project was pulled but I was told a long time ago that the reason the engine of the 58-60 Thunderbirds sits so far forward in the engine compartment was to accommodate the front wheel drive.

Good catch. After doing some research, I now discovered that Hale Brothers was a department store, and housed KPO radio station on the upper floor and its antenna on the roof, and must have made extra money on Ford advertisement displays.
