Hey Jeff.............I see a Texas sticker on that '55??  Reminds me of Gillett from Childress.
Gotta ask...with such an awesome build, do you know why is it being what looks like final assembly when the inside floors/firewall were left untouched? Possibly to show proof of how rust free it was?
The Merc is gorgeous!
I can do this, I can do this, I, well, maybe

Has a I-beam axle so I take it it's going to be a gasser? With a stout Y-block in it also.

beyond nice, Jeff !
The Merc makes me want to cry of joy. Pure class and the condition must be phenomenal. Those early 60s Merc interiors are second to none. those two or even tripletone seats are so pretty !

^ Both really nice rides!

When I was fourteen years old, I was amazed at how unintelligent my father was. By the time I turned twenty-one, I was astounded at how much he had learned in the last seven years!

Yes. the 56 was indeed Larry Grillets car and purchased after his passing. The interior is out at the moment because of insulation being applied.
That car has been in this state when Larry was alive.
I remembering seeing it first in 04 .... it is a VERY clean southern car.
At any rate... pretty sure it has been fired and very near completion by now.
Yes Gunther,.. I agree.... that Merc is a true one owner, little old lady car.
