He rebuilt his first car, a 1934 Ford Coupe, which he bought at the age of 13 for $75 and raced it in the Mojave desert, reports the New York Times. Here, the part-time fireman racked up a course record of 148 miles per hour.

When I was fourteen years old, I was amazed at how unintelligent my father was. By the time I turned twenty-one, I was astounded at how much he had learned in the last seven years!

Wonder if that one still exist or is it rotting away in an obscure location as these two did?  Later found and saved/rebuilt to original.

The driving force behind the 1955 La Tosca design exercise was the prolific Alex Tremulis, head of the Ford Advanced Styling Studio. In truth, no full-size version of the La Tosca was ever built—the car shown here is a one-third scale model disguised by clever photography. Tremulis and a co-worker devised a radio-control chassis for the model, and you can see the miniature La Tosca in action in this video feature at Mac's Motor City Garage.

Good! That thing's downright ugly.
Tanks for the info, Joe.

My pleasure   :001: Did you click the link and watch the video? They apparently put some time, effort & money into this thing to actually make a motorized minature.

Yeah, I did watch the vid! Seems strange to me that they spent all that time & $$$$ on that styling exercise. But WTH do I know about their reasoning? There are several things that Ford did or didn't do that I really wonder about & wished they'd have done something different. For starters, think '55-'56T-Bird & where Chevy's Corvette is now. And Ford ain't crankin' out a lot of GT40s either.
