not sure, but it is rather the opposite over here. No0body knows the Cougar, and everybody wants a pony. ponys are ridiculous. I mean 40 k for a simple 1965 V8 Coupe. Nice coded fastbacks up to 80. Nobody really knows the refined Mustang, a Cougar that is. My friends og paint black plate Cal survivor 289 '67, maybe a 25k car over here...
That said there is a neat black 68 Cougar in town. possibly showing up on Saturday at the car cruise. The owner has a German 1957 Ford and his father another one.

Those cougar ads....the $199k GT-E is a 428 (9?). Very very rare. the 390 cars, like the xr7 I had, were 390s.

  I think most were single 4-barrel 427's and the rest are 428 CJ's. Don't know the exact number. Saw this one at a big Ford event at Knotts Berry Farm.

I think I saw two of those built at Dearborn Assembly while I was there(1970-1975). They were Dealer Special Order(DSO). One had some special wiring that was installed after the main assembly line.

My friend Kim's 1968, 17,000 miles, orginal paint, still has the NHRA shoe polish from 1971.
