I'll stay out of the conversation. Last time I talked about it, I got my very first smite and was banned by one of the moderators for a week, lol.

The smite thing is not to be taken too seriously.............just a way of letting someone know you don't agree with them.

I was watching an old Twilight Zone last night and they used the ending, crash scene from Thunder Road.
I saw that exact same thing as well. After Thunder Road, I watched our local news for 1/2 hour, and switched to Twilight Zone. A few minutes later, I am thinking that I just saw this same 57 Fairlane 500 crashed into a power station 30 minutes ago! Only this time, Jed Clampett used his mind control to flip the 57 back onto its wheels. Kinda like a deja vu moment to be sure. I don`t know why on Thunder Road that they felt the need to dub in what sounded like a 6 cylinder with a split exhaust note, rather than just use the V8 sound. But then I also don`t understand why the Merc at the gas station flipped on its side when the 57 parked behind it exploded, or why the 50 Ford had a 51 dash and hubcaps either!

I watched it too. Did you notice that the bad guys in the 57 chasing the 50 ford were driving a Fairlane 500, but the car that went down the embankment was a Fairlane.
I counted 5 57 Fords destroyed or damaged in the film, that couldn't have been cheap as the 57s were new at the time.

59meteor

Yes I noticed that too, Lou. Also noticed one of the 57s had the turbine wheel covers, which I think are great looking covers.

Did anyone notice in the first chase scene that the '50 rolled when making his U turn, but the car came out of the turn unscathed?   John
