I'm making a bracket that holds both the Hood Release Handle and a foot operated '68 Ford Parking Brake Release Handle.
I DO NOT need the hood release bracket , nor the inner operating cable and handle. What I do need is the portion of the hood release cable that is threaded and goes through the bracket that is attached to the bottom of the dash. The front of this piece is round and chrome  It is threaded about 9/16" on the backside. There is a serrated washer and nut that secures it to the bracket. After the threaded portion it is a smooth metal tube that is about 1 3/4" long, that connects to the outer sheath that holds the actual cable. From the chrome to the end of the smooth tube is about 2 1/2 "  A lot of words to describe a few little parts!
Anyone have a these parts or an entire hood release cable they will sell me?

Surely someone on the Forum has a used Hood Release Bracket/Cable that they will sell me, so I can complete this project. Doesn't have to be pretty. Whatcha got?
Thanks
John

Thanks Jim. I'm trying to avoid buying it and the shipping expense , only to cut it up. I hope someone will come through.......if not, I'll bite the bullet and send some money to Mr. Carpenter.
Thanks again.\, John

I understand but I just thought it was an option to get you on the road if nothing else shows up..

No it does  not need to be pretty. I'd like the round chrome piece on the front of the bracket to be decent. I don't care about the actual handle, nor the bracket as I'm not going to use them.
Thanks
John

Here are photos of the Hood Release and Parking Brake Release handles that I'm installing in my Ranchero. What I need to complete this set up is the chrome piece ,and what it is attached to, from a Hood Release Handle/Cable/Bracket to use on the Parking Brake Release Handle, which will keep it from flopping around and will match the Hood Release.
Hope someone out there on the Forum has one they will sell me.
Thanks
John

I have one that I will sell you for $10, but I'm a little confused because your picture shows one already mounted. If you don't need the cable or housing the cable goes through I can cut it off to fit it in a smaller package. Better yet explain exactly what you need I have the complete set up, handle mounted to bracket with cable.

that is just a mirror image on the right handle, it seems. it is missing the chrome guide.  I think John just needs the chrome end piece with it's nut ( from any 57 hood release cable) which originally mounts the hood release cable to the under dash bracket. He wants to use the end piece as a guide for his custom fit brake release handle, so they both have the same appearance.

I'll take it for the $10.00. I'll send a PM with my contact information.
Now, as to exactly what I need. Gunter has it exactly correct. If you enlarge either photo, you'll see that the Hood Release has the chrome guide piece, but I'm missing it for the brake release.
The chrome guide piece I need is threaded on the back side and then is a smooth tube before it connects with the spiral wound sheath for the release cable.
I need from the chrome guide to where the smooth tube joins the spiral wound sheath. Maybe an inch of the spiral wound sheath. All of that is just a few inches long.....easy mailing.
Many Thanks!!!
John

Yes, you nailed it, as to what I need and why. I believe   57chero  has what I need..........I  sure hope so. As to vent cable, we looked at the one that came with the car, and it could work, but the Hood Release parts will be a better solution, in my opinion. Waiting for a reply from  57chero  and hopefully this little issue will be put to bed.
Thanks
John

John, I sent you a PM about the release cable.
