Inside Door handles and window cranks

I have an inside door handle that is stripped inside.  So we thought we would replace both door handles and both inside window cranks.  We have a 57 2 door hard top.  Looking in the catalogs the two door hard top door handles and window cranks are twice the price of the other ones.  What is the difference?  Can I assume either would work but just look slightly different?  This is not a restoration but a driver.  Thanks in advance for any help.

Handles for 57 2dr ht, Convs and some Skyliners are different according to the Ford parts books.

The one style was used 57 only and the other was used 1957-62, some years with black knobs (57,60-62) some with white (58-59).

Both used the same splines, escutions and clips so they are interchangeable.

Who's catalog were you looking at?

Good luck,

Ron.

Who has the one year style handles?  I have a Skyliner and I had to use the more common handles because I could not find the originals.  I have several used ones but they are badly pitted.  I would like to find some good reproductions of the original style.

In the Obsolete and Classic Auto Parts Catalog on page 194 they list two window cranks for a 1957 Ford.  One is OEM number B7A-23342-70A for $14.95.  The other is for 1957 Hardtop and Convertible OEM number B7A-23342-70B for $38.95.

They do not list two different inside door handles.  Just one which they say is for all 1957 except Convertible OEM number C0AZ-22660-64A.

I ordered a set from Concours Parts.  The ones I ordered may not be correct for a 2 door hardtop but our car is modified and not a period correct restoration.

Typo on that '194'? I found 'em here on page 294.

Can't be much difference difference between the two.  Except for the price!

The HT and Convertible rear window cranks are a touch shorter because of the arm rest.  I expect the Retractable would be the same.
