Driveshaft to Pinion Yoke Gap

After doing a little re-aligning of drive train, my driveshaft to pinion yoke gap got pretty close. It's about 3/8". What gap should I shoot for? It's a T-5 manual transmission. Thanks

  Do you mean 3/8" before it bottoms out in the transmission?

That's correct, I'm thinking I probably need .75" to 1".

I agree; 3/4" minimum and no more than 1" is what I was always told.

  I had at the most 5/8" play in my original driveshaft and it never bottomed out, but I never carried much weight in the car in it either. I had less clearance with the engine swap so I cut a 1/4" off the yoke. Not sure I'd recommend that mod but it worked for me.

You just don't want the frt yoke crashing into the trans tailhousing.
