Temp gauge sender

Anybody know what the ohm/voltage range of the factory temp gauge sender should be? It seems that some older Fords, like 65 Mustangs use a sender with 78 ohms cold, and the resistance drops as the temperature increases, down to 10 ohms at 250F. But when looking at later Fords, the resistance is much higher, with the ohms increasing as the temp goes up, opposite of the 65 Mustang operation. What I am looking to do, is to retain my factory gauge function, but my Edelbrock intake manifold has a larger 3/8" NPT hole, that the original 1/4" sender used. I know I could install a brass adapter fitting, but if I could find a factory looking and functioning sender, that is 3/8" NPT, from a later Ford, I would rather use that.

My old NAPA book does not list the lower temp readings, only the 220 degree number.  The original sender is listed at 11.5 to 13.5 ohms.  Their sender, number TS 6153 is listed at 11.5 to 13.5 also, has a 3/8 pipe thread.  It is shown to fit '65 to 69 and '82 to '83 Fords, Mercs, and Lincoln, also '66 to 85 Ford trucks.  Hope this is what you need.   John

Thanks John, exactly what I was hoping to find!
