Hello from Tennessee.  Thanks for the add.

Just acquired a 57 Ranchero.  Not sure yet of direction of this build, thinking about a dependable cruiser without big power.  Typical rust and problems for older rides.  Any pointers are appreciated.  Will do inventory of parts needed I can't find in the bed.  I see that EMS is highly recommended by many, they have good products.   Trying to finish my 69 Mach 1 to get this in the shop.  Not sure about the 292 and automatic, still have to pick those up.

Any advise on the auto tranny from that year.  TIA

Couple of build threads here featuring Rancheros that might help you through the mine field.  Gary (gassman826) has done several 57s, mine in the projects and KYBlueoval in the General (Ranchero resurrection), and many more folks with in depth knowledge and have the same illness.  Don't be afraid of asking questions, we've all been there, fallen on our swords and recovered.

Good luck and keep on building.

Welcome!  the main advice is to make sure to seal up the firewall, can make sure the cowl vent is draining properly, you will see, just search cowl vent tubes.

Welcome aboard!  If you should happen to separate the body from the frame be sure to brace the a pillar to the b pillar.  One of the last things you need is to loose the square!  The square being the dimensions of the door openings and the side to side dimensions.

Hello Terry, thank you for the heads up.  I was actually wondering about this.  I know on Mustangs bracing is very important if you replace floors, unibodies twist easily.

I guess being a car nut is a life long addiction.  l do love the 57 models.  I am learning how this page works and loading pics.  I appreciate the pic's on the builds I have looked at so far.   Great way to find how it should be assembled

Hi Abe!  Thank you the welcome.   Yes I have heard about the leaking problems, thank you for the advice.  Had similar problems with my 57 F100.  The cowl is in good shape but water leaks in through the floor vents if I'm in hard rain.

Hi Blue Blood!  I will look up your posting.  I have read KYBlueoval post very nice work.  Hope to get started soon, this looks like a fun build.  Will have lots of question I'm sure.  That is the fun part of building learning from other's advice.

Mark.............on the pic posting........there is a 4k mb size limit per post (total), and also a 4 pic limit per post. So, if you're posting more than one pic, most of the time pics will have to be resized so the total is under 4k. Easy to do, if you need help on resizing let us know.
I can do this, I can do this, I, well, maybe
