Can anyone offer any insight into this transmission? I am assuming C-6 but I really have little knowledge of automatics.

Without seeing the pan, my guess would be a round bell C6 for a FE

On the right side just above the pan rail and behind the servo, codes are stamped.  Google "C6 decode" for a lookup of the original vehicle donor.

The bolt pattern should measure 6 inches apart on the plate face

I'd be cautious, it looks like it may have been under water based on the corrosion.
