Ford Blue blood

But not too far!  Just purchased a 56 Ford Crown Victoria.  Got to thinking, I decided my "build days" were winding down.  Sold my stuff except the 36 and the Ranchero.  Then the realization that my sisters MGB was the last project in my shop!  What would I do with my time?  This thing just called my name, followed me home and will become part of the family......came off ebay, sight unseen.  Waiting for delivery to see if there are any surprises!

Looks like it could be just a paint job and then drive it! I like it!   :003:

Looks great, Bill. Hope their are no surprises like the one that Canadian guy threw at you years ago.

Let's keep this a secret between you and I: '56 is my favorite year Ford.

I hope you share pictures of the build , I just love the looks of a 1956 ford crown victoria ..

I am disappointed. When I went to the front view, I was expecting to see a glass top!  It looks great to me.  The 55/56 Crown Vics are a favorite of mine, too.

really cool, was just looking at one of those in some pics, is that consider a sedan? or is the glass the same as the hardtops? So its the Club Coupe for '56?

Nice car, Enjoy.

some of the pics were from the HAMB https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/images-of-tri-five-fords.1210072/page-90

What I've been able to sort out about the Crown Vic is the roof line is different.  The C post is moved rear ward slightly, the roof line flatter and the windshield is the same as the convertible.  The result is a lower, longer look to the Vic even though the main body is exactly the same length as the rest of the model line. According to one site there were only 601 glass top 56s built.  Seams as though the large expanse of glass would "roast" the front passengers if the zip up headliner was opened.  Don't quote me on any of that as it is all from a couple of different sites.

Nice car, I'm a CV fan and owned a 55 back in 69. Does the emblem on the fender designate a 312?

1955/1956 FORD-MERC ROOF-LINES

The 1955 FORD VICTORIA and 1955 MERCURY MONTEREY COUPES both got the high roof-line while the 55 FORD CROWN VICTORIA and 1955 MERCURY MONTCLAIR both got the low roof-line.

In 1956, all FORD and MERCURY 2DR hardtops got the low roof-line.
