292 Thermostat

So last year I had a problem with overheating that turned out to be caused by a stuck thermostat, in my 57 Skyliner 292.This season I had more problems with it and the new thermostat appears to be stuck too. I purchased another new thermostat, I think a Motorad brand, and it appears to barely open when tested. I put boiling water into a container and lower the thermostat in and observe it. I am wondering if anyone makes a good thermostat these days. I am also interested in maybe putting in a high flow thermostat, if I can find one.

Go to the Casco Thunderbird parts web site and check out there #8575C large opening thermostat, I have one in my 56 Bird 312 with no overheating problems.
