RICH MUISE

Thank you! We had a heck of a day here in Amarillo yesterday. High winds made for a bad dust storm. Semis were flipped over closing several highways, and many others turned over, but off the road. I saw 4 turned over on a short trip yesterday evening after the winds had died down. There were three 8-plus car pileups near town caused by near zero visability.

We did well here on the northeast side of Birmingham.  Was a long day though.  The radio went off at 3:30 AM Saturday morning.  Got up, turned on my favorite weather guy (James Spann) to help decide when and if I need to get the wife up and into the basement.  That "first wave" turned into a nothing burger.  Next weather broad cast started around 2:30 PM and ran until well after midnight.  I called it at midnight as we (my house) were out of the danger zone.  We were lucky, some others not so much.  Couple of long tract tornadoes did some kind of damage, killed a couple of folks, they were both west and north of us.

It got pretty rough here in west Georgia Saturday evening, we watched the weather channel on TV until about 1:00 am Saturday night when small tree limbs an debris started pelting the house and the power went off. We hunkered down for a while listening to the battery powered weather radio ,Finally it got quiet and we got to sleep some ,power was off about 15 hours. We were lucky!

last Saturday in Adrian, Michigan we had winds of 66 miles per hour, lost power, lucky for me my Generator started and ran for 42 hours before they could restore power, country living ..

I have contemplated installing a Generac system but in the 30 years we have been here the longest we were ever without lights was 25 minutes.  Helps when you are two blocks away from a major substation and two houses down the street from an "old folks" home/rehab center.  Around here (hills and valleys) many are short on power after storms because of trees and power lines not liking to occupy the same space.  Have to give Ala Pwr credit, they hit it hard and fast.
