Have to admit that shot of the 1941 Ford assembly line shows that the front nose was installed before the main body was dropped onto the chassis. I always assumed the nose would go on afterwards, mainly to prevent damage, but obviously I was incorrect.
1959 Meteor 2 door sedan , 428 Cobra Jet 4 speed. Been drag racing Fords (mostly FEs) 47 years and counting.
Previous 50s Fords include 57 Custom 4 door, 2 57 Ford Sedan Deliveries, 59  Country Sedan, and as a 9 year old, fell in love with the family 58 2 door Ranch Wagon.

That pic reminded me of this. The body shell was sitting on some land nearby & when it was was redeveloped years ago someone hauled the good looking body away.  Saw it going down the road on a flatbed.  I went by & found the land cleared with nothing left except for this discarded hood. 'Ford 406 C.I.'!  Had to save it.  :001:
I wanted that '33-'34 five window coupe body!
