There's a Ford in there somewhere.... :003:

When I was fourteen years old, I was amazed at how unintelligent my father was. By the time I turned twenty-one, I was astounded at how much he had learned in the last seven years!

It is Shirley and the track is New England Dragway. The 57 belongs to Joe Cushman from Maine he was the NHRA,AHRA record holder with different combinations of bodys, 2dr. 4 drs. and I think a wagon. His cars were so quick that NHRA outlawed the 57 Fords with the blowers even tho they were  a factory option, to many GM were going to get beat, but it was great to see him race. Jviera

There is a great pic. of Cushman's 57 blown-on-bye the 2dr car in Y-Block Mag. issue #127 if someone has it maybe they will post it, I still haven't figured out the picture post thing yet. JViera

Sure is, Joe ! The one to the left, that is showing its belly is a 1993 or 1934 Ford, showing a first of Fords new frame X members and the 'bent-around-the-differential' rear crossmember. Flathead V8 is still in car. I want to go back in time....

What are we looking at with that flex pipe coming around and down the front, ram air injection?

Those flex pipes are connecting the water inlets on the heads to the water pumps or a water tank. No radiator but it still needs coolant in the block.

Great photo!  Nothing like a heavily modded 57 to do a little pheasant hunting.
