I didn't notice those headlight rims or the '59 grille at first but after the mention the grille I took a harder look at the pic.
My eyes aren't the best & never will be what they once were but after the cataract surgery I had done on both eyes two years ago they're 100% better than they were. Wow! Should have had that done years before but I just didn't know. It was getting a bit iffy when driving. I still need a lot of light or reading glasses to read a newspaper.

I need to go and do that as well...friends who have had it done swear it is the best thing they have ever done. Some still don't wear glasses to this day over a decade after having it done. My doc says I won't need to either. It is just me...getting p[ast the idea of having someone mess with my peepers...sends shiver down my back. Gonna try and get it done before the first of the year though.

Don't mess around with your eyes, I've been having major problems since 94. Now I'm down to about 2/3s left in my right eye. I still drive  but have to pick my days. I'm not afraid of the dark but I know it is going to change my world a bunch. I make the best of every day, still work on my beloved 57's but at a much slower pace.  Take care, Alvin

You are right Alvin. I will go and do it, might start the process next week in fact. I am just nervous about it. I have never had any sort of surgery other than stitches in my long life. (66+ years) and so it is a bit disconcerting. I am just now getting to a point inn my life where I will no longer have ANY responsibilities other than to my cars...so I need to get things straightened out and begin to enjoy what was put aside for over 40 years.
Gunther and I have been talking about my bringing my Courier over to his neck of the woods in a a few years and doing some driving together...so I need to get things rolling...both figuratively and literally!  :003:

Take care sir...and thanks!  Hugh

P.S. Where is Columbus MT? I pass through often between WA and MO on I-90...

I need to go and do that as well...
If you're saying that you should have cataract surgery look up Pacific Cataract and Laser Institute.
They have places fairly close to you & others here claimed that they were the best.
As I understand it they send a team up here from somewhere in Washington state to their clinic here about once a month.
I understand that your reluctance to have your eyes messed with.  It was the same for me.
You wont feel a thing while the surgery is being done.
I kept waiting for the surgeon to open my eye lid that they had taped shut after giving me the local anesthetic.  Of course he had to do that but I never felt it. Ha!  All of it was an interesting experience.
I'm not sure who paid for all this.  Maybe part of it was paid by my union retirement health insurance & the rest by medicare but I don't think I paid over about $45. Can't beat that!
In just a few hours you can see the results. Literally! :003:
After both eyes were done it felt like having a new lease on life.

Obligatory 'Old Ford' pic.

I have heard of them quite often. I will ask the doc about them. My wife works for the local PD so the insurance is pretty decent. Another reason to get it done soon...she is looking to pull the pin in March or so. Thanks for the info.

Nice looker! Car is sweet too!!!   :003:

This little beauty belongs to a friend...though art some point it will be mine. Still has a flathead in it as well. This was shot after I put two new water pumps in it and front engine mounts.

She was real cute but the Roadster worked much better than the GF.  It's a keeper & much easier to modify too! :002:
