Managed to get my buddy to finish welding up the exhaust last night.

His TIG welding skills are far superior to mine and was worth the wait for him to come by and finish it up, I can't thank him enough.

When I was 14 years old, I was amazed at how unintelligent my father was. By the time I turned 21, I was astounded at how much he had learned in the last 7 years!

Well the other hanger bracket came in from PA today. After I drilled out the rivets and got it apart, I sand blasted it and then put it in the press to take the bend out of it as it sits too high with the factory bend. After that I drilled out the bracket and bolted the Stainless/rubber hanger to it and painted it.

Then it was just a matter of bolting it in place like the driver side

Now that both mufflers are fastened, I can secure the tailpipes; same procedure on the factory tailpipe bracket, drill out the rivets, remove the old rubber. After that I was able to get the SS hanger bent and then scribed it to the top of the OG bracket. I was able to utilize the hole from the rivet to secure the bracket and I added a tack at the end just in case it wanted to turn:

Instead of having an ugly 2 1/2" clamp visible from the back of the car, I tacked the hanger to the pipe. Seems like it will work out fine.

My buddy in PA has a dual exhaust bracket (passenger side) and is sending it up to me. I should be able to mirror image the driver side.

I needed to do something about the horrible condition of the dashboard, as you can see from the picture from when I bought it, it was pretty sad:

So I have been playing around with it off and on for the past month, but between yesterday and today, I finally got it looking half way decent without spending a ton of money.

This is what the backside looked like:

Plus the ashtray was missing so I ended up buying the only one I could find...

...not really a show piece, lol...

So I took it all apart and sandblasted the rust on the backside and then bead blasted the front side. Got it primed and painted it

I also cleaned up the chrome, light brackets, AC vents etc... It's truly amazing how the desert sand gets into everything, even inside the light fixtures.

BEFORE:

AFTER:

Yeah, the chrome still has some pits, but I'm not going to spend crazy money getting them rechromed:

I even put the Factory Tire Decal back in the glove box:

Even managed to get the ashtray looking somewhat respectable:

Finally finished assembling the dash, although I still need to find a wiper/washer switch, apparently they are no longer manufactured.
Found a few 2 speed switches online, but they don't have the washer feature and they are all in the $175-$200 range; YIKES!
So, if anybody knows of one or an option, please let me know; Thanks in Advance!

Managed to get it installed by myself, which turned out to be a project in itself, lol

Now I need to concentrate on the wiring....

Disregard, a member on another forum said a 69-77 Bronco  switch will work but you have to shorten the shaft, so we ordered one.

Interesting how that "1/2-of-a-dash" is. It's gotta make finishing the stuff much easier
I can do this, I can do this, I, well, maybe

I would thinks so, just curious how bad it's going to be to install the pad with the windshield in?

The passenger side bracket came in today and I was able to duplicate the drivers side; worked out well as it is nice and sturdy.

Also scraped off the old insulation and scrubbed it with lacquer thinner and a red scuff pad, then washed it again so I could apply the Kilmat:

Also got the shoulder harness off and cleaned, hopefully they'll look better when the dry, although I doubt it and will probably have to dye them:

Joe I would take a serious look at going new with those.  Many belt providers with complete and make your own out there.  There is no way of knowing what those old belts have gone through.  Given the magic you've accomplished to this point it is chump change to go new, IMHO.

Thanks Bill, but those are the shoulder harnesses that mount to the headliner above each door. It is not a matter of money, it's just that I don't see anyone who makes them, also, I will never wear them.
As far as the lap belts go, I have already purchased them new.
