The obvious reason is they wanted to remove any potentially misunderstood meaning when saying "nice pair".

It's gonna be c-o-l-d !!! tonight low of 2*, high of 6* tomorrow.
The digital highway signs yesterday were cautioning ........"ice prevention operations ahead". Pretty funny in light of  current politics.     

We had a couple of nights here in SW MO of 9 degrees for low and highs of 22. Next 5 days the promise is 51/23 today, 29/9 tomorrow, 15/6 Saturday, 17/-4 Sunday and 27/19 Monday.Tuesday we can break out the shorts and T-shirts...39/9. LOL!!!
Looking at as much as 10-inches of snow for Tomorrow night through Sunday morning. Comes on the heels of a Christmas of 77 degrees.
Weather is a woman no doubt...VERY unpredictable!

We only got about 1/2" of powder snow yesterday, but it's still here this afternoon, even on the streets. 3 degrees right now.

here in michigan it was 10 below last nite

We were threatened with up to 2' of snow...got 2"...so far. High today was about 15, current;y at 10:25 p.m. it is 12 degrees.
Wind blew all day...and it misted snow but not enough to add any depth. Supposed to keep on tomorrow. We'll see.

Temp at my place at 8:45 on this lovely 26th of January...a whopping -3..expected to warm up to a balmy 26!

15* here, 1* with wind chill.
Had to fly a red eye into Boston Sunday AM, over fear of being stranded in Scottsdale until Wednesday.
Got home 8AM Sunday as we had to Uber to Providence, RI because that's where our vehicle was, came home to 18" of snow and drifts over 2 feet. Finally finished it all up by 3 PM Monday, only to wake up to another few inches this morning.
Glad to see the ole' girl still has it in her:

 




You've got to love TRUE 4WD!

No more snow for us, but hasn't melted either. Which long term...is okay. Kills off those pesky critters a bit for summer..fleas, chiggers, ticks etc. Thinning those ranks is a good end result.
Warmer today at 9:30 than yesterday...26 today...supposed to see 38 today and maybe 44 tomorrow, so the melt is coming.
We maxed out around me at 4 inches, but Springfield, 55 miles or so north of me apparently got their expected 16-28 inches.

Everyday nearly since November 27th.
we got so much snow. where to put it is becoming a real issue.... and its cold.

For 10 years we had severe winter weather.but it always melted away and the cycle began again

the last 2 winter seasons have been...... Brutal

We survive though.

Hey Jeff...send it down here...ours is melting. I want it to stick around to kill off more of the little annoying critters...fleas, ticks, chiggers etc!
