LOL, I can't believe I'm already posting that "I saw my old '57" yesterday at the monthly cruise-in. He had just arrived from doing the annual Crimestoppers show in the Ammarillo Convention Center where he took 1st place in the 50-59 class! He had a big smile on his face enjoying all the attention.

One big area where the interest in our hobby will NOT be dying down is the Hispanic areas of the Southwest. I've talked about this before, how it is generations of families that are into the car scene. That's something most of us missed the boat on. Their rides may be a bit different, but workmanship for the most part excels.

Sort of like seeing your old high school sweet heart after all those years, but with cars, she still looks the same as she did back then.  :003:
When I was 14 years old, I was amazed at how unintelligent my father was. By the time I turned 21, I was astounded at how much he had learned in the last 7 years!

Rich it is great to hear that the new owner is enjoying your ex 57 Ford as much as he can. It always should be a win/win situation and it's awesome to know that your car is appreciated so much !

I have been in the situation of selling beloved cars before, either for money, time or space. and it does hurt, but it's mostly for the better afterwards. I can honestly say that I do not regret selling any of my ex cars. I must have had 35-40 cars, and still have about 15, so must have sold over 20.
Even if I would like to take some of them for a drive again, there is no real regret. It's really only my 1966 Mercedes 250SE, that I would love to have back, if it were in better condition. It was the best quality car I ever had....
Very glad to still own all of my current drivers and many project cars that I may or may not get to build.
Yes the market is also slowing doen in Europe, but it started a whole new business of car auctions over here, with very affordable classic cars, selling like crazy in larger auctions. Nearly everything sells these days, when the price is right.
I will attend the classic expo in Salzburg this October. No interest in buying, but out of curiosity and checking back with a very good friend who has found a new market and working hard in the business.

Rich, I saw a clip posted to fb showing your car.  It showed the ds taillight, down the fin to the front fender, into the engine compartment, back to the dash.  Very quick perhaps 15 seconds.

Haven't seen that yet, but I'm really curious about what a "DS" tailight is!?

The wife picked out some new wheels and sneakers for her Cougar:

I offered to pay for them, but she insisted, so I bought her a Wilwood Disc brake set up and get it installed for her:
