It has been written that Ford of Canada built seven K-Code 1965 Falcons.  A friend of mine owned this convertible and was raced in Manitoba under the names of "One of a Kind", without name, "Johnny K", and finally as "Frustration"...
He restored it after its race career.

Interesting hood and scoop. The scoop resembles a 60's t-bird?

I test drove a 63 Fairlane K code car in '67 with a 3 "on the tree". It was a quick little car!

great story Lynn ! I always loved these 'compact' Fomoco products of the early sixties. I had a 62 and a 65 Comet, although with an L6. I would really like to own a 1963 or 64 Fairlane V8 wagon. I bet they make great drivers. I am also a SBF fan. Had a 302 in my first 57SD, then a 351 in the 57 Del Rio, and another 302 in my 34 sdn. I have a spare late 1966 289 sitting in the basement, just in case... :003:

I know they may seem like rather boring family cruisers, but this is such a pretty, neat design ! The proportions are really nice. Would love to have one !

Randy, here is some history on that Comet. I found a few posts about it, one said the JM did not own it, others said he did.  This guy seems to know more than the others.

A gentleman from Winnipeg, Manitoba (James Melsted) purchased Goldfender and match raced it for several years under the banner "Orbitor" on its sides. In those years it transformed into a stripped down, altered wheelbase car with a straight axle and tilt front end. It was running a 427 medium riser with Tecalumet-Jackson mechanical fuel injection (Ford part number on the FI, apparently Ford toyed with that set up on the GT40s in Europe) and was a solid 9 second ride. I purchased the car from Jim in June of 1982 with hopes of restoring it and putting back on the track again. Never got it quite that far, but the local shefiff still talks about the car with the PARACHUTE he busted on county road 58! I still have the Canadian Bill of Sale titled 1965 Comet Dragster. See "The ones that got away" in this Comet Lounge section. I reluctantly sold the AFX to David Kuntz in April 1984 due family needs. A car claiming to be Arnie the Farmer's AFX was listed as a feature car on Mecum Auto Auction about two years ago. It was a the-bid-goes-on at around 315G. I don't know if that was the car that was once the Goldfender or not, or if it was Dave selling it. I do know that Dave did purchase the car that was the Goldfender. I Think I gave Dave the cut out part of the hood that was still painted a heavy gold metal-flake. Jim had cut it out years before to install the tall stacks on the FI. I have some interesting old pics somewhere around here that I will gladly try to make available. I have a real interesting copy of the sales transaction with Dave, the "official" sales price was $100!! Mike, I hope some of this is helpful, let me know how to get copies of pics to you.

Had a 50 Ford EX FBI car in hi school in the late 50s.  Ugly 4dr Interceptor? 254 w/ mercury carburation, didn't say Mercury on heads, as I remember something like EAB.  Fastest flathead around.  Overhauled the motor when a sr.  and installed a Warshawsky 3/4 cam, never ran as good.  gave the take out cam to a friend who overhauled his doggy 49. Boy did it wake it up.

Terry, I saw that truck in the pits at the Loafers Oldies Drags at Mission Raceway around 2018, and it had a Ford FE engine in it at that time. The truck looked like a recent "barn find", no idea if that was the real engine that had been used when it raced, or just a dummy/mock up engine, but I did take a couple of photos of it with my cell phone. I don`t know how to post photos here, but I can send them to you if you want to post them.

Previous 50s Fords include 57 Custom 4 door, 2 57 Ford Sedan Deliveries, 59  Country Sedan, and as a 9 year old, fell in love with the family 58 2 door Ranch Wagon.

I saw that truck at Laurie Petersons car show on Charolette st. In North Van. Was a 3-4 years ago? I think it did have a fe in it.

When I was fourteen years old, I was amazed at how unintelligent my father was. By the time I turned twenty-one, I was astounded at how much he had learned in the last seven years!
