Don't forget the Broncos! I think there's a few of us on here that own early Broncos. I did sell mine and kind of miss it. Sure was a fun and practical vehicle for bombing around in for the summer.

There used to be a drag car running out of Portland, a Vega station wagon running 10.90 Super Street.
Worked a Ford shop, had an FE in it, told everyone it was a 352.

That is a good racing buddy of mine, Gary Ericksen, who has been a FE racer since (at least) he bought his new 69 428CJ Mach 1, which he still owns, as well as a 69 Torino Talladega. He raced his Vega station wagon, with a Monza nose, from 1980, until a few years ago, with 428 & 390 FE power. He still has the Vega, but replaced it with a tube chassis Ford Probe, also with a FE under the hood. He has won NHRA points meets and National events with both the Vega and the Probe, in the 10.90 class, but the Probe has gone low 9s with the throttle stop turned off.

I wonder if that would be Howie Stevens old Probe.

Here's one I saw a couple weeks ago posted on the Hamb. Personally I wouldn't wasted such a great engine on a shoebox gm, but as they say it's your car and do what you want with it.

Yup!  '57 Ranch Wagons 351W, go well with a '70 Bronco 302W.

I have to laugh, nobody in the family can drive the Bronco, it still has a "three on the tree" shift.  They have no problem with a clutch, no problem with a four speed on the floor (my wife had a '66 Mustang convertible GT with a T-10), but can't seem to figure out the column shifter.  It's just more driving fun for me.

You'll guys will love this then, I built a 1970 351C with a big spline toploader behind it in my 1974 Ford Bronco.

When I was fourteen years old, I was amazed at how unintelligent my father was. By the time I turned twenty-one, I was astounded at how much he had learned in the last seven years!

I wonder if that would be Howie Stevens old Probe. No, Randy, Howie sold his Probe to Grant Klohn in Victoria BC about 8 or 10 years ago, a Grant sold the Probe to John Webster, also from Vancouver Island 2 or 3 years ago. And when Howie bought it about 20 years ago, it came from California, from Comp racer Warren Pearson.  The Probe Gary Ericksen has, with the FE, was built from scratch by Gary. It`s silver with black stripes. David Cook Sr. from California, raced a red Corvette with a 427 Ford FE in it, in Super Gas/Super Street.

Man O man, you know everybody!  I met Grant Klohn at Mission once. I think he had that big inch Windsor Turquoise 67 Fairlane. Beautiful and pretty fast also.

Yes, Grant has owned his 67 Fairlane since high school, and I have raced with him for many years. He has had a variety of various stroker SB Fords under the hood, as well as several different transmissions, all manual 4 or 5 speeds. He has gone well into the 8s with the Fairlane, and after he bought Howies Probe, he changed it from the yellow it had been for about 20 years, to the same turquoise as the Fairlane. I think his best 1/4 miles with the Probe were in the 8.20ET range, all motor, small block Ford with a Liberty 5 speed.

The other cool item on this car is the license plates.  I am sure there are some YouTube videos of the Fairland on the street.

I have a '69 FB Pony car...but with the Windsor. Love that car. A friend re-built the motor for me...got carried away...and blueprinted it. It is all I have left other than memories...he died in '91 a week after my wife and I were married. Still miss him. When I get that car reassembled...gonna leave a long and strong rubber patch for him to look down at and smile over!
