Does anyone know where I can get a 5/16" rocker arm stud for my 351w? Of course I gotta be the guy with the 5/16" , and not the 3/8, or 7/16! Thanks!

Not sure, I haven't extracted it. When I was reinstalling the rocker, the rocker arm buaring pressed down to far onto the stud. The nut then either stripped out, or the stud did, not sure which as I haven't taken it apart yet. This I know, the nut just spins on the stud, won't tighten, and won't loosen. the 3/8 ones I have seen, are all threaded.

It may be just the nut..try a nut splitter if you can get it on the nut.
I can do this, I can do this, I, well, maybe

I'd try your locals first..O'reilly's, AutoZone, Sears,Harbor Freight. I just typed nut splitter into the search block and it gave online souces. 10-12 bucks and up. While your there check to see if they have your studs just in case.

Thanks Rich, Every day I wonder why I didn't just leave the engine alone! But, then again, it would have left me stranded some where :005: At some point I think every one ask why at some point on a rebuild. I bet you have ! Lol :003:

Well I thought google would have "differant" nut splitters. But for $10. Worth a try. lol

Sprink,
I ordered on from Advanced Auto for $23.00. It is more money but it is shaped like a c clamp, I thought it would be easier to get it onto the nut than the other ones I saw listed. Besides, You never know when I have a need to bust another nut :003:! Thanks,

So, did the nut splitter work for ya,...was it just the nut, or did you have to replace the stud?
