Since the topic of Alternators came up recently... and how they were available on Taxi cabs and police cars......I tried to find anything that would show what they really had back in 57.Hard subject to research. While there are a few recreations of Police cars...very few are accurate.
Since there was no hard and fast sheet on buying a Police car.... each county, state or division could ask for what they wanted... 2 doors,4 doors, engine sizes etc etc.
I found no info on E-code or F-code pursuit vehicles.
But lots of interesting old photos of different Police divisions displaying the cars they had in service.(side note..My brother in law is a deputy chief of Paramedics in my home town and has a Pursuit car for his work.. new modern Ford with a supercharged mod engine and all the Police options known to man!....his car has more options than the police chiefs car!Every time I go home he takes me for a ride... very fun car....but I digress)

What started me on this search, was i was looking for a picture of one of those Alternators that the guys had mentioned with the rectifier .....no luck.
If someone today had and ACTUAL un touched 57 ford Police car.... it certainly would be unique and worth it's weight due to the rarity ....but ...I have never seen or come across a 57 Ford Police car today.....I mean a real one.. not a recreation....

Anyhow.... some very cool pics from the past......
