I have seen that car. He has some pretty nice rides. Surprised he hasn't been on Jay's Garage on CNBC yet. I know they know each other. He's just a car guy who happens to also play music now and then.  :001:

Good part is he drives them all.  There was a picture of Cadzilla in  mud puddle and dirt splashed up the side, forget where and when (been to bed since then) but they don't sit in a warehouse waiting for the tires to go flat.

Mickey Thompson and his 427 Ford FE engine with aluminum hemi heads of his own design.



"Interestingly enough, the bore spacing of the Chrysler, Pontiac, and Ford FE V-8s are quite similar, at 4.562, 4.62, and 4.63 inches, respectively. Another coincidence: All three engines employ a head bolt arrangement with 10 fasteners per bank. The patterns are similar, yet not identical and do not line up, nor do the water passages and other features. So M/T's hemi castings aren't Mopar knockoffs-at most, they could be described as conceptually based on the Chrysler but adapted to different architectures. Rather cleverly, too. The M/T castings do share a few parts with the Chrysler, including the intake rocker arms and valve covers. M/T also marketed aluminum replacement heads for the Chrysler, by the way. They listed at $725 per pair in the '64 M/T catalog, while the Pontiac and Ford heads were $900."

Oh what would a pair of those heads be worth today? IF you could find a pair that is. I have a pair of his valve covers from the 60's...never been on a car. (regular FE valve covers...not the hemi ones.) That is as close as I have gotten to one of his engines. I traded window trim for a '57 sedan windshield for them.  I think I did okay in that trade.
