The 1965 Comet looks like it was built by the "Hammer to fit, Paint to match" method.  Check out the fiberglass front fenders......the body side lines look like they are from two different models.  The hood barely fits. 

The 1966 Comet Cyclone one piece flip top funny car body looks much better.  This was one of the first flip up bodies, way before the days of massive spoilers and huge wings.

Don Nickelson and Gas Ronda were the Ford Guys of the day.

I'm sure it was a purpose-built Mustang...but a Pony Car with a rumble seat just seems oh so wrong!  :dontknow:
