This is the update on Cobra Joe. You are correct .  He has been missed.   I just got off the phone with him.   He was
away hunting.  Jay

So...was he successful?

I was, thank you for asking, although it wasn't an easy 10 days.
After driving almost 600 miles, we struggled to see many deer and the weather was extremely tough. The second day we got over three inches of rain making it uncomfortable to be in a tree stand, even with rain gear, I was soaked and miserable. The next day we got a foot of snow and then another 8" the next day. The deer were locked down, for three days, I saw zero print or sign and then they started to move the next three days. I saw a total of 12 deer the whole time I was there, one was 20 yards in front of me, less than 10 minutes before legal hunting time, only to walk away.
I was fortunate enough to take a nice management doe, about 140 lbs. the morning before I had to leave @ about 60 yards. Thank God, because where I shot her, down in a ravine, took us hours to retrieve, even with a side by side. I double lunged her and took the top part of her heart (she was climbing up the opposite side of the ravine, putting her close to eye level with me) and she still ran close to 100 yards before collapsing. I am so amazed at the will to live these animals have, nothing like us....

I probably shouldn't show this, so if it offends anyone, please speak up and I will promptly remove the pictures,
but this was the view from my stand after I shot. I had originally thought I had missed as she never stumbled and just ran off until I saw the blood trail:

Curious...in the first pic...what are we seeing in the background that appears to be covered with heavy tarps?

Maybe...though if that pic was shot in Abbotsford B.C. it isn't likely to be tobacco.
