I was lucky, mine was similar to the one you salvaged from the Mercury. Great job, Jeff. However, my inner splash panels you repainted were another story, I had to hand fab new ones via the cut, bend up,  and weld method. Strange how the same cars can be 180* different in where they rusted out.
I think once you use that NiCopp line, you don't want to go back to anything else unless it's premade stainless. (or you need stainless for a show car)
I can do this, I can do this, I, well, maybe

Moving to the front sheetmetal ... and while I had the glue out.... bonded the brows.... they will never come off.The posts were in very bad shape and trying to repair pot metal is just a problem.I have several sets.... but these were the best ones.....

I agree Rich!!!!!..... so strange how some of these cars rotted out and the same model from a different climate survived.I have a local friend with a super clean Canadian built 58 custom(built in Oakville ontario) that is flawless....  all original and so clean... bought the car from a ,local guy for 7 grand....  it must have been stored since 59  hahaha

Yes... those Ni-copp lines are very nice to work with.... very simple and easy!...

Most guys around here think I'm crazy,... I have enough parts in triplets,... doors, dashes, deck lids etc etc.I just want to have all in hand in case i need something in the future and enough to build this car and the Texas car from Larry Grillet in Childress.I counted 7 spare hoods the other day(yes,I do have a problem)
But after all my cars are done..i will sell off the parts to those who are in need..... But the cars will have to be finished first. Many on this site have helped me immensely.

Btw way... I have my sealed glass Quarter window kit from John Gambol and i have made my template from Fordaholic(Gary)....... just waiting until i can get to a glass shop to get the glass cut. Hotroddonnie(remember him!?!?!) Gave me a full glass set for a custom.....
I wonder hot Donnie is doing....I think he lives in the Maritimes now.

Awesome work Jeff; just did the same thing to my eyebrows as the posts were deteriorated also. It looks beautiful!
When I was fourteen years old, I was amazed at how unintelligent my father was. By the time I turned twenty-one, I was astounded at how much he had learned in the last seven years!

JEFF ! Terrific efforts made !!! I see you made good use of your very special day off ! clean work all around. now that is what our passion is about. not counting hundreds of hours of scraping and sanding. But putting things together afterwards. very rewarding! Well done, Sir !  :004:
