When I was fourteen years old, I was amazed at how unintelligent my father was. By the time I turned twenty-one, I was astounded at how much he had learned in the last seven years!

Interesting the the Falcon was shipped with it`s hub caps already installed.
1959 Meteor 2 door sedan , 428 Cobra Jet 4 speed. Been drag racing Fords (mostly FEs) 47 years and counting.
Previous 50s Fords include 57 Custom 4 door, 2 57 Ford Sedan Deliveries, 59  Country Sedan, and as a 9 year old, fell in love with the family 58 2 door Ranch Wagon.

Interesting assortment of models. I can't figure out if that wagon is an Edsel or a Ford...I think Edsel. Those Lincolns sure have pretty much disappeared.
Railroad cars nowadays are enclosed but vented......I see lots of them around here. Didn't know what was in those vented cars until I asked a friend who works for the railroad. I figured it couldn't be cattle, but back in the old days, railroads transporting cattle is what put Amarillo on the map.

The wagon looks like a 61 Mercury.

I guess that the enclosed rail cars came about due to vandalism and theft. Not sure if "artists" were tagging new cars with graffiti back in the early 60s or not, but I knew a guy that worked at a large new car auto terminal/storage facility, and when they went to unload new Z/28 Camaros in the late 70s, it wasn`t uncommon to find an empty spot were the Super T10 4 speeds had been. I guess if a group of thieves jump on a train load of new cars, headed thousands of miles away, they could remove several transmissions while the train was en route, and toss them on the grass beside the tracks, for a fellow crook to pickup. Plus I suppose some kids could throw rocks at the cars and/or windows while the train was chugging along.

I worked at a dealership 59-63, Cadillacs came in special rail box cars and could only be unloaded by one trained guy in our town.  Four per car double decked, it took all day to get them out.

The T10 4 speed theft you described occurred in the Atlanta area as the railcars left the BOP (Buick-Olds-Pontiac) plant back in the day. Bucket seats were also stolen .......So I'm told.

FiveSevenLiter

Four of these were built in Australia, they had twin flatheads, side by side with twin four speeds connected with one stick.

Now that had to be strange to drive! It's obviously articulated, and I'm assuming the pivot point is over the second axle (like a modern big rig), so the cab is not going to be "pointing" where the bus was headed on a turn. That may be why they only built four.

Neat to look at but lots of failed engineering in this rig.

I believe you are correct. Looks like a "tractor" in the front with a "goose neck" trailer. I bet the steering links are crazy though since the driver is in the trailer! (PURE BS CONJECTURE OF COURSE.)
