Thats so good hear that you had a great trip in yours and you beat my best trip of 340 miles by 10  I've only been to Canada on the western side and 340 miles above the border there is absolutely nothing, just great scenery.

Heck....I took mine out for a short roadtrip thursday....just a couple casinos in OKlahoma, 380 mile Round trip. Now that's a perfect getaway day for me. Jim, I think Jeff said he drove 350 one way to his friend's house. Not sure what to read into that, maybe got trailered back, or too much Canadian Ale and somebody else had to deliver it home, lol.

The trip was 350 one way,350 back home... the Dirty Bird(that's what I call her,my 57) drove flawlessly to and fro..... Oil Pressure was a constant 50lbs. and coolant temp. was 190 steady.We ran into horrific rain on the way home,no leaks and as mentioned the Newport never skipped a beat.
The only negative thing was a crosswind that would move the car around 65-75 mph coming home.... in the rain.... and the highway would have large pools of runoff water..... so running thru those can be dicey..... Hydroplaning is scary.We travelled thru the Canadian shield and if one was to go off road.... it would be somewhat fatal.
Yes.. there was much Canadian Ale,BBQ and good friends.Love a good road trip.
I plan to ditch the front fenders this week and replace them with good units off my parts car.....Hood and gravel pan too(see how the time goes with work and family)

These fronts are in very good shape.... a little paint wear.... but that's it...I will update when done!

Uneventful is a great feeling in these old cars. Glad you posted what you did on the winds moving the car around, as mine is the same way. Windy days can get a little scary over 65 or so until you get use to it. Open roads here in Texas gives me a lot of opportunities to get use to it, but really windy and I'll keep it at or under 60.

Yes Rich.... I was wondering about this..I am not sure if a really big front sway bar would help.... like the S/W T-bird one(I think they are 1-1/8 as compared to a small FOMOCO 7/8 stock one.
Maybe it's just an inherent thing....but not sure.
I think you have an aftermarket bar in don't you?.... Heck... even my 2012 Hemi Dodge gets pushed around in bad crosswinds,,,,, so.... I imagine there is no real solution.

Speaking of sway bars.... i am going to invest in one.... this car lists like the Lusitania on corners.

The 1 1/8" sway bars really help in the cornering, but nothing for the wind. I went ahead and installed the rear one also.
