Too bad no Marti reports were available prior to 1967, I think Kevin Marti would have trouble trying to narrow these Mustangs as "one of one"!

A little too late for the 494 Boss engine to have any impact in the Can-Am series.

Certainly the Stock cars of the early days of NASCAR looked a heck of a lot more "stock" than the past decade of so. Real men, driving real cars, that came with the same engines and chassis`s as production cars. Can`t recall ever seeing a 2 door, V8 RWD Taurus at my local Ford dealers, or a pushrod, carbureted V8 RWD 4 door Toyota Camry on our lot the 23 years I worked at a Toyota dealership.

Yup, becoming Formula One with a car body (sort of) wrapped around a common chassis with common engines with "nice" drivers........

Yeah, I have to wonder how many of the young ,modern pretty boy "nice guys" would have been able to handle those heavy NASCAR Stock Cars like David Pearson, Junior Johnston, Richard Petty, the Allisons and Cale Yarborough did in the 60s and early 70s.
