Tom I think that those guys in your old van are still on the most wanted list.  Were they trying to steal the 56 Vicky so they could get away
unnoticed?
You're right, Jay. We all know that lots of people are still lookin' for at least one of 'em.  They were hitch-hikin' & it was real cold out cold out so I picked 'em up.  Almost didn't but they looked pretty cold & desperate. The old guy with the wild hair with the younger kinda slick lookin' dude looked like a strange couple.
Anyway, had to detour to the house for a minute & when i came back out the Vicky was gone & so were they. :(
Surprised the van was still there.

Who says ya can't just make this stuff up?!
Gotta have something to really prod the imagination first. Thanks, Jay!   :003:

Emm, guess I better post a couple old Ford pix after all that BS.

When I was fourteen years old, I was amazed at how unintelligent my father was. By the time I turned twenty-one, I was astounded at how much he had learned in the last seven years!

Two comments / questions about out #481.  It looks like the car is suspended from the helicopter over the Ford co.  What is the car?   Are those vehicles with the smooth front ends that appear to be mounted on skis some sort of early snowmobiles?  I never saw anything like that.

1.)The year is 1970, and to celebrate the one millionth Ford Cortina produced for export, this model took to the skies over Ford's Dagenham site. Just two hours later this rare two-door 1600E Ford Cortina Mkll was with its new owner in Ostend, Belgium.

2.)A facility in Spy Hill, Saskatchewan (Canada) produced Lorch Snowplanes in the 1930?s & 1940?s and Mr. Lorch also built snowplanes in Wolford, North Dakota for about three years. The Wolford models were designed so they could be switched from skis to wheels in the summer. Some reports indicate that with a good tail wind, the later Lorch Snowplanes could reach speeds as high as 90 MPH on the snow. This is a vintage photo of a few Snowplane owners in front of the Spy Hill Garage.

Seein' ole 'Tricky Dick' there reminds me of seeing these two very hot babes driving along a downtown Anchorage street in 1972.
Their bumper sticker: "Vote for Nixon in '72, don't change Dicks in the middle of a screw"   :001:

Thanks for the answers to both questions.  Can't figure out how come you are so smart.
You must eat drink and sleep old Fords.

Guenter
I was there because I was waiting for those two people to get out of the 1960 Thunderbird convertible so I could take it for a drive.  Would you believe that I actually saw one of those with a factory standard shift transmission?

Hardly jay, the internet is the "smart" one.   :006:

Those Rancheros on the Salt in #489 reminded me of this pic.
An all gloss black Ranchero has been my dream '57.
