When I was fourteen years old, I was amazed at how unintelligent my father was. By the time I turned twenty-one, I was astounded at how much he had learned in the last seven years!

Hopefully those front tires are just rollers until he gets the front end back on.

I hadn't noticed them. Actually neither car looks like the front tires are blessed with much tread.

As a young kid, I would get "replacement" tires( with minimal tread ) off junkyard cars.

RICH MUISE

'61 Starliner..one of my favorite cars, and particularly if Red, which I'm guessing this one is. Twilight Zone time...... Marcia, my high school girlfriend,  had a cousin that drove one. Two days ago I was researching some Facebook pages trying to find a lead to Marcia when I found her cousin Carol's page. I sent her a message reminding her of who I was and asking about her cousin. I also asked her if she missed her red Starliner. I mentioned that I was hoping to finally get a lead to Marcia, to another HS friend and just yesterday I got a note from that friend informing me Carol passed away last year.
I can do this, I can do this, I, well, maybe

It wasn't all that uncommon to run "May Pops", cases without enough left on them to retread.  Some retreaders would gladly give them away or sell them for a small price. I knew a fellow who used 16 may pops to drive 120 miles. May pops weren't safe at any speed but were manageable at 40-45 mph.

I always used maypops back in the 50's when I started driving my first car..  Haven't heard that word in a very loooong time.  HAHA

A lot going on in this photo.....not to mention the 65 t-bolt. The Fairlane in that year really took a back seat to the new Mustang.

Dave, you sure looked a lot different back then from what I might have imagined.  :002:
