When I was fourteen years old, I was amazed at how unintelligent my father was. By the time I turned twenty-one, I was astounded at how much he had learned in the last seven years!

I really like the tail light treatment on that red Meteor in post #784.

The picture of the 57 #44 in post #795 appears to be Oren Prosser winning one of the Permtex 300 races at Riverside. He was from our local track back in the late 60's.

Could never figure out how the nosepiece stayed undamaged and apparently in it's correct position since there are 3 bolts on each end tying it to the fenders, and the fenders on both sides are pushed back. Almost like those bolts weren't there. A made-up wreck?

Swank

Dang, i could use that nose piece.

My guess is that the "wrecked" car was fabricated. I wouldn't think you could actually drive through two parked cars at speed and wind up with a car you could drive??? I LOVE that movie, have a copy I watch over and over. It is kinda hoakie though but I don't care.

I was wondering the same thing. I assumed it wasn't a '57 picture.

Judging from Goodyears.. its a mid to late 60''s shot..and I bet its an FE under the hood.

They used destroked 427's to meet the maximum cu in requirement. In the late 60's many of the top runners were using it in 57 Fords. Oren Prosser and Ron Hornaday Sr. were two of the fastest chewing up tri 5's and spitting them out..

The lady has a strong resemblance to Jackie. Had to take a second look.  I don't think the Kennedy clan was into racing, maybe on water.
